چکیده
In this study, the author attempted to explicate the infuluence of thedifference in the impression methods for the simulation models based on the hypothetical pressure-displaceability and the form of the alveolar ridge on the reproducibility of the measuring models. For this purpose, the reproducibility of the master cast were examined by use of the threedimensional position-reproducing apparatus, concerning the two factors the seating speed and the holding pressure of the tray. As a result of this study, the following conclusion was obtained. It has been made clear that the impression of dentulous alveolar ridge (the seating speed and holding pressure of the tray) influences the reproducibility of the simulation model. In the impression of the alveolar ridge possessing normal pressure-displaseability, the reproduceability of the measuring cast was the highest when the measurement was made with the tray atthe seating speed of 100 mm/min, and at the holding pressure of 2.0 kgf. Furthermore, it was suggested that when the tray is pressure-adjusted to the alveolar ridge at a standard or slower seating speed, the tray should be held with great pressure, and when the tray is pressure-adjusted speedily, the tray should be held with little pressure.

In Vitro Effect of Vent Size and Spacer Thickness on Pressure Produced during Maxillary Edentulous Impression Making by Different Impression Materials
Background and Aim: Inappropriate transfer of pressure during final impression making in fabrication of complete denture can result in ridge resorption. This study aimed to assess the effect of vent size and spacer thickness on pressure produced during maxillary edentulous impression making by different impression materials in vitro. Materials and Methods: This experimental study was carried...

متن کاملMishmash Impression Technique for Managing Maxillary Anterior Fibrous Ridge
Introduction: Flabby or fibrous ridge is one of the consequences of long term wearing of complete dentures. It can develop where hyperplasic soft tissue replaces the alveolar bone and is a common finding, particularly in the upper anterior region of long term denture wearers. Forces exerted during impression making can result in distortion of the mobile tissue unless managed appropriately; such...

Impression procedure forms the basis of a successful Removable Partial Denture however, in distal extension bases the residual ridge must be recorded in functional form and the remaining natural teeth in an anatomic form. Zinc oxide eugenol impression paste is a material of choice for functional impression whilst irreversible hydrocolloid is suitable for an anatomic impression. Therefore two-pa...

Figure 1.Maxillary PVS impression demonstrating defect in palatal region. A maxillary complete denture (CD) impression often demonstrates a defect in the palatal region of the edentulous arch. This problem commonly relates to air trapped in the impression material or mishandling of the tray seating; the bubble formed in the impression can compromise the fit of the CD or impair tissue health. On...
